CheckUp 3.0: Tom’s Mac Software Pick

CheckUp is a handy-dandy utility for monitoring your Mac's performance. You can use CheckUp to get real-time data about CPU loads, network performance, and disk usage. You can also use it to delve deeper into how your Mac is working, and discover what processes are hogging your CPUs.

CheckUp also allows you to set up alerts based on criteria you supply, such as processor temperatures, drive space or drive errors, memory usage, even things as simple as how many files are in the trash or if you have too many items on the desktop.

CheckUp 3.0 has been tested to work under OS X Lion, so no update will be needed if and when you upgrade.

CheckUp's interface is easy to use, and doesn't take up a great deal of room, something I usually complain about with other similar applications. If you're in the market for a robust Mac monitoring tool, CheckUp is worth a look-see.
CheckUp 3.0 is $42.00. A 7-day demo is available.
